In the sermon clip, Mitchell argues that Jesus stands apart from other religious leaders because His tomb was found empty. Frank later explained on social media that after hearing the message, he "couldn't help" turning it into a song.
• "Jesus Is Alive!" debuted at #17 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart in its first week, then made a 16-position jump to #1 the following week, one of the fastest rises to the top in the chart's modern era. It was the fourth song to have had reached #1 in two weeks since 2012, following Reba McEntire and Lauren Daigle's "Back To God" (2017), MercyMe's "I Can Only Imagine" (2018), and Lauren Daigle's "You Say" (2018).
