Songfacts®:

  • Here, Fred again reunites with two of his frequent collaborators, American producer Skrillex and British producer Four Tet. "Baby Again.." incorporates an aggressive House style with samples of Atlanta rapper Lil Baby's vocals.
  • The song was born in early summer 2022 when Fred again and Skrillex moved into a house on the River Thames in the village of Pangbourne outside of London to work on music. Fred was preparing material for his Boiler Room set and Skrillex was penning songs for his Quest for Fire album. They were joined by Four Tet, who often helps the pair with their productions. The trio's sojourn in the English countryside earned them the nickname Pangbourne House Mafia among fans.
  • "Baby again.." heavily samples Lil Baby's vocals from his track with DaBaby, "Baby," which was recorded for their label Quality Control's 2019 album, Control the Streets, Volume 2. The three producers took the BPM up a notch and layered on some ravey production to really bring the heat. The track hits a new level of dancefloor headiness around the 4:30 mark.
  • Fred again debuted the track during his Boiler Room set in July 2022. Then, during Fred again, Skrillex and Four Tet's sold-out show at Madison Square Garden on February 18, 2023, "Baby Again.." was the song playing when the house lights finally went off midway through the five-hour show. The trio released the song a month later.
