• John from Pittsburgh,paGary Puckett & the union Gap is one of the best American groups during that era. Not only did Gary have one of the greatest voices ever recorded, but the tunes they performed were outstanding. I can not get enough of this fantastic group!
• Tom from Los GatosYou sure it’s an oboe and not a cor anglais (English horn)? Similar instruments. The cor anglais, also double-reeded, is a fifth below the oboe. Listen to the beginning of the 2nd movement of Dvorzak’s New World Symphony. Also, Van Morrison’s Village Idiot features a cos anglais.
• Timothy D. Wilson from Baltimore, Maryland.To the person who wanted to know the instrument at the beginning of the song, "Over You," by Gary Pucket was an oboe. There was an oboe at the beginning of the song, "Don't let the sun catch you crying," by the group, Gerry and the Pacemakers.
  (I'm sure that you've heard that song more than once).

• Tautriadelta from UkThe chorus is ".....for there's nothing I can do, but spend all of my time, out of my mind over you." Zabadak - don't trust your memory! "Over You" was very much an "A" side, the "B" side being "If The Day Would Come." The "B" Side of "Young Girl" was "I'm Losing You."

  At the time the group's "Over You" was at #27 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; a little under six weeks earlier on October 20th it had reached #7 {for 2 weeks} and was on the chart for 11 weeks...
  Between 1967 and 1970 the group had seven Top 100 records, five of them made the Top 10 with two reaching #2, "Young Girl" for 3 weeks on March 31st, 1968 and "Lady Willpower" for 2 weeks on July 14th, 1968...
  "Over You", "Young Girl", and "Lady Willpower" were all composed by Jerry Fuller...
  With "Over You" the group became known as 'Gary Puckett & the Union Gap'; with their first three releases they were referred to as 'The Union Gap featuring Gary Puckett'...

• Coy from Palestine, TexasThis was the last song written and produced for the group by Jerry Fuller. At the next session, Puckett and group left Fuller in the studio with a full orchestra waiting. Once they broke with Fuller the hits dried up.
