• "I wrote this song in the form of a letter," Heidi Talbot told Songfacts of this emotional track from her Sing It For A Lifetime album. "One of my most personal songs, I hesitated at releasing this song baby out into the universe but it was healing and uplifting to stand in my own space and in a sense let go. Seonaid Aitken's strings enhance the sweet melody, and my great friend Adam Holmes contributes soulful backing vocals."
• Life looked a lot different for Talbot when she recorded her previous solo album, Here We Go 1, 2, 3, nearly six years earlier. She was married to fellow folk musician John McCusker, who was also her producer, and living with him and their two daughters in Edinburgh, Scotland.
  
  Fast forward to Sing It For A Lifetime, she was dealing with the aftermath of a divorce while taking care of her kids and negotiating the sale of her home during a global pandemic - all while recording new music with a new producer (Dirk Powell). Her emotions added weight to the album, including this cathartic song about moving on.
• Because of the pandemic, Talbot had to meet with the musicians via virtual sessions. Seonaid Aitken is a Scottish violinist and orchestrator who was in Glasgow at the time, while Adam Holmes, Talbot's partner in the duo Arcade, was based nearby in Edinburgh.
