Songfacts®:

  • This was the first Swedish #1 written by ABBA's Benny Andersson. At the time he was the keyboardist for the pop-rock group Hep Stars. He recalled in ABBA The Official Photo Book; "I knew what I was doing. If I could write one, I could write another. I saw how it was done. I already felt I knew the score. After all, I was 20."
  • Benny Andersson wrote his first song "No Response" (by public request) while keyboard player for the Hep Stars. "Sunny Girl" was his follow up, and was a massive hit in his native Sweden. Like their previous hit, it was released on both Olga Records and Dunhill. >>
