Songfacts®:

  • Jake Owen went from writing or co-writing every song on his debut album to penning nothing for Days Of Gold. The writer he leaned on when he put down his pen was Jaren Johnston of the Cadillac Three, who co-wrote this love-gone-good number and four others on the album. Owen explained to Radio.com that recording outside songs, "really freed me up to be able to sing about those emotions without necessarily feeling the pressure to re-create them."
