Songfacts®:

  • Velvet Revolver and former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan joined Jane's Addiction in January 2010. He assisted in the writing process, and performed live with the band but departed nine months later as he didn't like the electronica influenced direction the band were heading in. This poignant song, which reflects the perspective of age, is one of three tracks on The Great Escape Artist that Duff co-penned. It was performed during the sound check for the May 5, 2010 show at The Bardot, and officially premiered the next day at the taping of the band's appearance for Guitar Center Sessions at the Guitar Center in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
