Songfacts®:

  • This is one of several songs on I Cry When I Laugh inspired by a girl who broke up with Glynne over the telephone and broke her heart. Asked by The Independent whether the girl knows the album is about her, Glynne replied staring at the floor: "I haven't spoken to her, we don't talk. There's no talking. It's really sad when you think about it, that we don't talk. But it's her decision. I don't know what she's doing. I don't know if she's even heard it."
  • The steamy yet vulnerable video features a naked Jess Glynne singing to the camera and curled up in a chair. She commented: "This is a song about the need to have someone who cares when you are at your most vulnerable."

"It's an emotional song for me and I have to admit it brought me to tears filming the video, not because I was sad but because I was so grateful that I had someone to get me out of the dark hole I was in."
  • The song was released as the official 2015 Children in Need single in the UK. The charity supports disadvantaged children and young people across the country. "This is a song about the need to have someone who cares when you are at your most vulnerable," Glynne explained.

"It's an emotional song for me and I have to admit it brings me to tears when I sing it live, likewise when I made the video."

"I hope it makes people realize that they should reach out to others at a time of need and I'm so excited for it to be part of BBC Children in Need. It's such a special cause."
