  • Jimin enlisted in the South Korean army on December 12, 2023, along with fellow BTS member Jungkook. They joined the other members, Suga, Jin, J-Hope, RM, and V, who had already begun their service earlier in the year. All able-bodied South Korean men between the ages of 18 and 28 are required to serve in the military for 18 months.

Released on December 22, 2023, this is Jimin's farewell song. It finds him expressing his gratitude and love for the BTS ARMY, the fandom name of the popular K-pop group.
  • "Closer Than This" is a soft ballad with lyrics in English and Korean where Jimin traces his and ARMY's shared path. Though a comma, a pause, hangs in the air, he whispers, "I will never let you go," assuring his fans that love transcends miles and moments.
  • Jimin wrote "Closer Than This" with Regular BTS collaborator Pdogg, August Rigo, Evan, Kofo Shankz, and the song's producers, Ayo The Producer and Ghstloop. Jimin co-wrote his debut solo EP, Face with Pdogg, Evan, and Ghstloop.
  • The music video opens with a behind-the-scenes clip where Jimin brainstorms lyrics for the track. Later, the visual compiles clips of BTS' past concerts and interactions with the ARMY, highlighting their bond and memories.
