  • Messina told the story behind this song when she appeared on the Off The Record Podcast in 2026. "It was actually what I told somebody," she said of the title. "It was an artist, and I was like, they're exhausted. They come in for a co-write, and they're like, 'Golly, I'm exhausted with everybody's expectation of what I should do, and what I should wear, and what I should be... I'm over it.' They were just so exhausted, and I was like, 'Look, I get the game that you're in right now, and I've run the race that you're running. Whatever you do, don't let them hide your beautiful. You are beautiful. God created you beautifully. He has a purpose for you, what he created you to be. Don't let them bury that.' And so I literally told her, 'Don't let them hide your beautiful.'"
  • Messina wrote the song with Blessing Offor and David Spencer. Offor is a popular artist in the CCM genre and also a songwriter for other artists. He's Lee Brice's duet partner on the song "Hey World."
  • The song is very much informed by Messina's faith. She says the song is "about the you that God created."

"Don't hide that," she told Off The Record. "That very part of us that he stitched in our mother's womb to be who we are, that seat of emotion, that soul of who you are, He doesn't make mistakes."
