  • Most of Tribute is a breakup album, written about Newman's previous relationship, but this song was inspired by the singer's current girlfriend, Ella Eyre. The singer-songwriter, like Newman, was given her break by the East London group Rudimental – Eyre's voice can be heard on their chart-topping single "Waiting All Night." Newman told The Sun October 4, 2013: "I am in a happy relationship now. 'Running' is Ella's song. She works a lot and she was touring with Rudimental. It got to the point where I wasn't in control as she was on the other side of the world. I just wanted to see her and I didn't care where she was... then as a songwriter you over-exaggerate that feeling."
