Songfacts®:

  • RMS Titanic was a British luxury passenger liner that sank in 1912 during its maiden voyage after hitting an iceberg. There were about 2,224 passengers and crew aboard, and over 1,500 died. Here, Juice WRLD uses the shipwreck as a metaphor for his own sinking life.
  • Juice depicts himself here as someone who is slowly drowning because of his lifestyle. He has frequently talked about his drug abuse in his music ("Bandit," "Wishing Well") and here he references the possibility of dying from his codeine addiction. The rapper knows that God is watching over him but worries that the Almighty is tiring of him "sinnin' and wildin.'"
  • The beat comes courtesy of:

Atlanta-based producer DY Krazy A member of the production group 808 Mafia, DY Krazy has previously worked with Gucci Mane ("Wake Up In The Sky") and Future and Young Thug ("Patek Water").

American beatmaker Rex Kudo, who has also worked with the likes of Nicki Minaj ("Run & Hide") and Post Malone ("Go Flex"). Kudo contributed to four tracks on Legends Never Die, including the Halsey collaboration "Life's A Mess."
  • The Titanic disaster has been depicted in many works of popular culture, including:

"My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion

    "Tempest" by Bob Dylan

"Band Played On" by Joe Walsh

    "S.O.S." by Saxon

    "The Ship" by Brian Eno
