Songfacts®:

  • The first single from former Flyleaf singer Lacey Sturm's debut album Life Screams is an optimistic song that finds her paying tribute to the miracle of life.

Every morning I see another miracle
    I can't believe I'm living the impossible
We are the sign and we are the wonder
Another day of living the impossible

Sturm explained: "I was listening to the radio one day and I said to myself, 'If I hear one more song telling people to kill themselves and go to hell, I'm going to have to put a record out!'"

"I just think it would be a good thing to have a voice in the mix of all the hopelessness that actually gives you a light at the end of the tunnel; a voice that's still honest about the pain and struggle, but can also scream, 'Hey, wake up and be alive because there's hope!'"
  • Lacey Sturm made history when Life Screams topped the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart. She was the first ever female solo artist to reach #1 on that particular tally.
