Songfacts®:

  • The Voice Of The Heroes is a collaborative studio album by hip-hop stars Lil Baby and Lil Durk. The title comes from Durk's sixth studio album, The Voice, and Baby's nickname, "The Hero," that Durk gives him on this song's hook.

    Voice of the heroes
See, I'm the voice, Baby, he the hero

The two rappers maintain the characters throughout the record: Lil Baby the world-weary hero, Lil Durk the voice of the people.
  • The two artists rap two verses each about their respective upbringings and wins. Durk talks about his journey towards becoming the voice of the streets and Baby the responsibilities of becoming a hero to the homeys he grew up with.
  • Two producers supplied the beat. They are:

Houston producer TouchOfTrent. He has supplied several of Lil Durk's previous beats, including those for "All Love" and "Viral Moment." TouchOfTrent is signed to Durk's Only The Family (OTF) label.

Boston, Massachusetts beatmaker Haze. He has also produced for YoungBoy Never Broke Again ("Thrasher") and P Yungin ("I'm On").
  • The Daps-directed video follows Lil Baby and Lil Durk in the streets of Baby's hometown of Oakland City in Atlanta, Georgia. Their scenes are mixed with vignettes show the struggles of people living in the area.
  • The Voice Of The Heroes is Lil Baby and Lil Durk's first joint album, but the two have worked together on many previous occasions. Past collaborations include Durk's singles "3 Headed Goat" and "Finesse Out The Gang Way." They also both contributed towards DJ Khaled's 2021 cut "Every Chance I Get."
  • The Voice Of The Heroes topped the Billboard 200, becoming Lil Durk's first #1 album. Lil Baby previously reached the summit with his 2020 album My Turn.
