Songfacts®:

  • "Hometown Home" is a song about cherishing the simplicity of life and building a future in a familiar place filled with memories.

"It's about planting roots, hand-holding, kitchen dancing," explained LoCash. "An anthem for building a life together. It's about creating a home inside a town you've always known. It's a reminder for all of us of how important our roots are. We think about how lucky we are with our wives and families - knowing we would go wherever they want to go, but a li'l reminder that we could stay right where we started."
  • LoCash's Preston Brust and Chris Lucas co-authored the song with Zach Abend (Chris Lane's "Drunk People," Kenny Chesney's "Take Her Home") and Andy Albert (Blake Shelton's "She's Got a Way With Words," Dustin Lynch's "Good Girl"). They penned it during the pandemic over Zoom, a time when many of us were longing for comfort and familiarity.
  • Produced by Jacob Rice, the song features contributions from Sol Philcox (electric guitar and bass), Grady Saxman (drums and percussion) and Andy Ellison (acoustic and steel guitar).
  • "Hometown Home" was released on April 19, 2024, under he Galaxy Label Group, which LoCash co-founded earlier that year. The song debuted at #91 on the Billboard Hot 100, LoCash's first appearance on that chart since "One Big Country Song," which peaked at #50 in 2019.
  • The song climbed to #1 Billboard's Country Airplay chart dated April 12, 2025. This feat ended an eight years, six months, and two-week gap since their previous visit to the summit with "I Know Somebody," making them the most patient act in country music since David Lee Murphy, who waited 22 years between top spots in 1995-2018.
