Songfacts®:

  • LoCash is an American country music duo composed of Chris Lucas and Preston Brust. They recorded this Ross Copperman, Jeremy Stover and Rhett Akins penned song for their I Love This Life EP. "Chris came to me and said, 'Man, you gotta hear this song. It's called "I Know Somebody," Brust recalled to The Boot. "We were kind of sifting through songs at the time, and I listened to it, and it was instant. I knew what we could do with this song, and I knew Chris was going to sound great on it."
  • The video was directed by Ry and Drew Cox and set in 1998 at a roller skating rink in Chattanooga, Tennessee. "We knew that we didn't want to make a familiar girl-walks-into-a-bar kind of video," said the directors. "We have some fond childhood memories of hitting the roller rink with friends back in LA, and something about that setting, and even that time period of the late '90s, fills us with nostalgia.. The guys caught the vision and really made it their own, tying the story together and bringing the energy with an awesome performance."
