  • Lord Huron is the brainchild of Michigan-raised Ben Schneider. Formed in 2010 in Los Angeles, Schneider took inspiration from how the Great Lakes were shaped by melting ice toward the end of the last ice age. Their music often reflects a sense of awe and wonder for the natural world.
  • The band's name was inspired by Lake Huron, the lake Schneider often visited in his early years.
  • Schneider formed Lord Huron as a solo project. After writing and recording two independent EPs (Into the Sun and Mighty) on his own, demand grew for Lord Huron to perform live. Schneider roped in childhood buddies Mark Barry, Miguel Briseño and Tom Renaud, who he used to play music with during his teenage years in Michigan.
  • The band's early success led to a record deal with Iamsound, and in 2012 they released their debut album, Lonesome Dreams. This was followed by Strange Trails in 2015.
  • The closing track of Strange Trails, "The Night We Met," became a hit after appearing in the 2017 Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. The breakthrough propelled Lord Huron into an arena-filling act.
