Songfacts®:

  • It might not make it into any musical halls of fame, but "David Lanfair" is a tune like no other. Love And Rockets included the song as the B-side to the UK version of their "Mirror People" single. The track features slow music playing over the voice of Kutztown University junior David Lanfair.

Lanfair recorded himself asking Love And Rockets interview questions, and sent the tape to the band. They recorded some music over his questions, slapped the track on "Mirror People," and called it a B-side.
  • David Lanfair (the person, not the song) went on to be a successful copywriter who worked for a wide array of clients, including MTV.
  • "David Lanfair" finally made it onto an album in 2013 on the fifth CD in Love and Rockets' 5 Albums box set.
