Songfacts®:

  • 11-year-old Mason Ramsey became an online sensation after he was filmed yodelling Hank Williams' "Lovesick Blues" in the aisles of his local Wal-Mart in Harrisburg, Illinois. The performance went viral and as a result of his new found fame the Yodelling Kid appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, at Coachella and on the Grand Ole Opry.

Ramsey signed a record deal with Atlantic Records and Nashville-based label Big Loud in late April 2018. "Famous" was his debut single, which was released on April 27, 2018.
  • The song was written by Sarah Buxton, Canaan Smith, Corey Crowder and Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard. It cleverly links Mason's newfound fame with a pre-adolescent romance.

If I'm gonna be famous for something I'm gonna be famous for loving you
If I'm gonna be known around the world, I want it because of you girl

The song debuted at #4 on the Country chart in its first week.
