Songfacts®:

  • For Matt Redman, trying to bring more worship into his worship songs is a lifelong pursuit, as he believes many of them lack true reverence. This song tells the story of God - creation, cross, resurrection. "In our worship songs, we tend to just talk about me and Jesus, here and now - and there's nothing wrong with that; it's beautiful," he explained to Christianity magazine. "But if that's all you ever sing about, that's problematic. So, in this song, we tried to open up the whole story. Because if we can do that, it's going to give people a higher view of God."
  • "The Praise Is Yours" is the opening track of Lamb of God (Live), which Redman recorded at the Mission in San Juan Capistrano, just outside of Los Angeles. He released it as the album's second single on November 18, 2022.
