Paul Smith is the frontman of the indie rock band Maximo Park, who hail from the North East of England. He told Drowned In Sound about this song: "An organized racket. Hence the siren. Memories have a ghostly way of creeping up on us. This song is a commemoration of a moment in time in order to prevent the ghost from fading."
The band is named after Maximo Gomez Park in Little Havana, Miami. Maximo Gomez was a Cuban revolutionary who fought Spanish insurgence.
