Songfacts®:

  • This was co-written by the Christian songwriter Jennie Lee Riddle, who is best known for penning "Revelation Song," a song that was originally made popular by Kari Jobe before being carried to #1 by Phillips, Craig & Dean. The other songwriter was Dustin Smith, a worship leader from Kansas City.
  • This features a guest vocal by Kari Jobe, which was recorded at Smith's barn in Franklin, Tennessee. Michael said of the young worship singer's anointing: "There's something on her. I love her posture. You just feel like she's really all in. You don't feel like she's trying to bring any attention to herself. She gets lost in these moments and you can't help but just go, 'Wow! I want to be like that. I want to get lost like that.' She's a great singer and the way she projects herself, it's pretty special."
  • Michael's original idea was just for Kari to be part of the live video version for the deluxe DVD version of the record. He told us: "The whole thing just exploded that night at my barn. And it was just electrifying. And so when we finished that I just went back to her a day or two later and going, 'You know what, I think, if you don't mind, I think you should really seriously think about being a part of the record, as well.' And she said yes. So it's a good moment. It's a good way to end the record."
