Songfacts®:

  • This is the first single from Christian trio Phillips, Craig & Dean's tenth studio album, Fearless.
  • The song was written by Jennie Lee Riddle and first got national exposure from the Texas Christian worship band, Gateway Worship. It also was included on Contemporary Christian Music singer-songwriter Kari Jobe's 2009 self-titled debut album.
  • This was a tune that Phillips, Craig & Dean had wanted to record for some time. Randy Phillips of the trio explained: "This song captures the moment of looking up into Heaven, peeling back the curtain of eternity so we can peek in. If you keep your eyes on the Dow Jones or nuclear weapons in North Korea, you'll always be nervous. Look to the awesomeness of God instead."
  • This was the longest running hit single in any format on Christian radio in 2009, spending 11 weeks atop Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart.
  • Fearless won "Inspirational Album of the Year" at the 2010 Dove Awards. It was Phillips, Craig & Dean's first Dove win.
