  • This Dr. Luke, Claude Kelly and Miranda Cosgrove penned song is the lead single from the iCarly actress' debut album, Sparks Fly. Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald, who also produced the track, is the co-writer of such hit singles as Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You" and Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A.."
  • In a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest, Miranda said that this song concerns a current crush. "It's about a certain guy, but I haven't told him yet, so I'm kind of hoping he hears it on the radio or something and he realizes [it's about him]," she said.
    Miranda refused to reveal who the guy is. "I'm too embarrassed," she said. "What if he's listening?" After Ryan and his co-host prodded a little more, she admitted that the her crush is "kinda" famous and the same age as she is.
  • Miranda told MTV News that the album's title comes from the first verse of this song. She said: "The reason I ended up naming it Sparks Fly [is because] those are the first two words you hear when you pop my album in."
