Songfacts®:

  • This is the third single from Heavy Metal Music, the debut studio album from Newsted, which is led by former Metallica bass player Jason Newsted. He said: "As far as the new recordings go, it's one of my favorite moments, if not my favorite moment, on the record — the dual-lead guitar thing in the last 30 seconds of the song."
  • The video was filmed with director Leon Melas, who previously helmed Newsted's clips for the tracks "Soldierhead" and "King Of The Underdogs."
  • "As the crow flies" is an idiom for the shortest route between two points. It is actually the rook that flies straight to its destination, rather than the crow, but the two black birds are often identified with each other.
