Songfacts®:

  • This is the opening track from I'm Yours, an album recorded by Pixie Geldof at the end of 2015 in LA, with producer Tony Hoffer (Beck, The Kooks) and released on November 4, 2016 via Stranger Records.

"'Sweet Thing' is one of the older songs on the record," said Geldof. "It's actually the first song I wrote after I signed with Stranger. I wanted something that channeled the country music I grew up listening to, something with a real stomp, and be a song you can wake up to. As soon as I heard it in the studio, with those drums, I knew it would be the opening track of the album."
