  • Pupsies is a North Carolina singer-songwriter whose bedroom digi-pop tracks sound like unedited journal entries. Working around hyperpop and scenecore, she combines lo-fi electronic production with lyrics about obsession, loneliness, and the desire to be understood.
  • Born Cindy Kamgaing, Pupsies started uploading music for fun as a teenager. Her songs soon found an audience online, particularly among other teens who connected with the raw emotions in her songwriting.
  • Pupsies built her following outside the traditional label-and-radio system, sharing her music directly through platforms such as SoundCloud and TikTok. That DIY approach fits her songwriting, which often sounds less like a performance and more like someone telling a close friend exactly how they feel.
  • Her 2026 single "Misery" became her breakout song after taking off on TikTok. The song focuses on a complicated kind of relationship: being hurt by someone whose affection is genuine, but whose feelings and behavior can be unpredictable.
  • Despite making hyperpop, Pupsies doesn't listen to much of it herself. She likes to draw from a variety of styles and sees music as a way to express yourself without worrying about fitting neatly into a particular genre. "I want to show people that you can do whatever you want to, you can express yourself however you want to," she told Billboard.
