Songfacts®:

  • Queensrÿche guitarist Chris DeGarmo wrote in the sleevenotes for the Japanese edition of the Empire album: "'Another Rainy Night (Without You)' is another Seattle inspired song. Geoff (Tate) wrote lyrics for that. It's about waiting for someone in the rain. It is talking about being far away from someone, a long distance... in a night... alone, and the guy is thinking about someone. The rain is a metaphor for loneliness, the rain is coming down and its used for a metaphor for being lonely. it's not all sunshine, blue sky, and beautiful weather while missing someone. The rain is representing the loneliness and sadness inside." >>>
