Songfacts®:

  • This is the third single by the American Country music singer Reba McEntire, from her twenty-sixth studio album, All The Women I Am. McEntire debuted the song on TV on April 3, 2011 when she performed it at the 46th Annual ACM Awards.
  • The Jessi Alexander ("The Climb"), Jon Randall ("Whiskey Lullaby") and Gary Nicholson ("Same Kind of Crazy") penned song celebrates the giddy excitement that tends to envelop those experiencing new love.
  • McEntire recounted to GAC how she woke up in a panic with this song stuck in her head. Worried that she may have let it slip through her fingers during the recording of All The Woman I Am, she thought, "'Oh my gosh, is that a song on the radio, or is that a song I've been hearing out of all of the demos? ... And have I put it on hold?'"

So, Reba quickly called her record label to secure the song. "I said, 'Did we put this song on hold? If we haven't, put it on hold, and if we have, double hold it,'" she quipped. "I just knew it was a very strong song that I wanted to sing. It was worth that one night of sleep that I missed."
