Songfacts®:

  • This song features on Sam Adams' second EP, Homecoming. The track was produced by Maejor Ali, who was formerly known as Bei Maejor. The Detroit recording artist and producer has also helmed tracks for the likes of Big Time Rush ("Windows Down") and Justin Bieber ("Heartbreaker") as well as notching up his own hit single with "Lolly."
  • Adams told The Boombox that when he laid down this emotional track, "it was the first time I ever locked our whole team out of the studio."

He added: "I got a beat from Bei and there's something about it that was just very personal for me. I wrote the whole song about what people call me, or what people look at me as. And the chorus is just, 'I wish, I wish, I wish I was.' So it's a very introspective, personal track."
