  • Wide Sargasso Sea is a novel written by Jean Rhys as a prequel to Charlotte Brontë's famous 1847 novel Jane Eyre, and tells the story of the first Mrs. Rochester. Nicks wrote this song, inspired by a film adaptation, which she told The Ventura County Star was " a crazy movie" that she loved.
