"It's not about being f--ked up or drunk," Sum 41 vocalist Deryck Whibley told MTV News of the song. "It's more about the aftermath when you're hearing everything you've just done the night before, and you're like, 'Ah, f--k, I'm better off dead.' I don't regret any of the things I do and I don't mind doing them, I just hate hearing about it. Being told every morning, 'Dude, what did you do last night?' drives me nuts."
This peaked at #12 on the Canadian Singles Chart and #33 on the US rock chart.
An acoustic version was included on the 2005 Chuck Acoustic EP.
David Bowie's "Space Oddity" tells the story of an astronaut who cuts off communication and floats into space. The BBC used it extensively in their coverage of the 1969 moon landing - an odd choice considering the lyrics.
"Sloop John B" is a traditional West Indian folk song, and it was a huge hit for The Beach Boys in 1966. They tweaked the lyric, "This is the worst trip since I've been born" to "...I've ever been on" as a wink to acid culture.
