  • Tenille Townes learned a lot about herself during the COVID-19 pandemic when she was stuck inside with only her own thoughts for company. The lonelier she felt, the louder the voices got - and they weren't always kind. She turned to music for a safe space to examine her feelings and wrote the song "Villain In Me" about her internal struggle. When she shared the tune with her fans, she realized her private battle was actually a universal one.

"So many people responded saying, 'I feel the same way. I struggle with the same voices. Thank you for putting my truth into a song,'" Townes shared in a 2023 Songfacts interview. "I was like, 'Well, this is my truth too, so I'm so glad we can stand together in this.' It gave me the courage to keep digging into those harder places within myself. And to be able to feel like there was this open-armed embrace that felt supportive of people listening to those songs. It meant a lot to be able to share the journey of that time."
  • This was included on the Canadian country singer's 2022 EP, Masquerades. She wrote the track with its producer, Alex Hope, an Australian songwriter known for her work on Aussie singer Troye Sivan's debut album, Blue Neighbourhood (2015) - including the lead single, "Wild."
  • Townes also showed up on TV screens in 2022 when she appeared in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original Time For Him To Come Home For Christmas, which also featured her song "One In A Million."
