Songfacts®:

  • This song features Q-Tip rhyming over The Chemical Brothers' retro instrumentation. The A Tribe Called Quest rapper previously teamed up with the UK dance duo for their hit 2005 single, "Galvanize."
  • The human locomotive-themed video was shot by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind director Michel Gondry. He previously helmed the clips for the Chemical Brothers' "Star Guitar" and "Let Forever Be," and several videos for Bjork, including her debut, "Human Behaviour."
  • Tom Rowlands recalled to Q magazine: "I went to Q-Tip's house in New Jersey to do 'Go.' It's brilliant, proper teenage b-boy fantasy stuff. He's got an incredible studio in the basement with special sub-bass in every corner, and the most amazing vinyl collection -four copies of obscure Krautrock records, stuff like that. Then we ordered jerk chicken. I was in awe."
  • The was used in a popular commercial for the 2018 GMC Terrain.
  • "Go" is used in a scene in the 2026 Netflix thriller Apex when the villain Ben, played by Taron Egerton, puts the track on and tells Sasha (Charlize Theron) she has until the song ends before he starts hunting her, turning it into a chilling countdown.

The scene originally just had the line "Ten minutes, and I'll come after you," with no music at all. Egerton suggested to Director Baltasar Kormakur playing a song and having the hunt begin when it finished, giving the moment its distinctively sinister energy.
  • When "Go" was first released in 2015, it peaked at #46 on the UK Singles Chart. Following its use in Apex there was a huge surge in streaming, shooting "Go" into the UK Top 10 for the first time.
