  "The history of this bar was really important to Train," lead singer Pat Monahan told the Off The Record podcast in 2026. "We would perform there to try to win people over, eventually get paid, and we knew all the people. I changed all the names within the song that we were writing because I remembered who the people were. And so it's basically about the history of us getting started in San Francisco."
• The "Piano Man"-like song is about a quirky cast of characters who converge at a local bar - the one place where they all feel like they fit in. Monahan actually sent the tune to Billy Joel and asked him to help finish it. "He was like, 'I don't write songs anymore. And it sounds like it's done to me,'" Monahan recalled.
