  • Turno (real name Francesco "Franko" Moliterno) is an English-Italian drum & bass DJ/producer. Here, he teams up with South London bass producer Skepsis and British-Australian singer-songwriter Charlotte Plank for a summer anthem.
  • "Rave Out" was developed during a January 2023 writing camp. Inspired by the process of having the songwriter in the room throughout the production process, Turno, Skepsis and Plank pay homage to the rave experience.

"In December 2022 we organized a writer's camp with Ultra Music," Turno explained to UKF. "People like Skepsis, Catching Cairo, P Money came in, it was timed so that for every couple of hours there was someone new coming in, it was really productive. I even managed to record 22 tracks in a week. 'Rave Out' was actually the first track we made, and it was also the first time me and Skepsis both met Charlotte Plank, as well, so it was crazy how that just came about. It happened really quickly; it was all recorded within a couple of hours of us starting the record."
  • The concept for "Rave Out" originated from Skepsis. It resonated with Plank instantly and her energy was palpable from the outset, seamlessly synchronizing with the vibe. "Skepsis had his sound, and from there I started adding my sound to it, developing the track further so it had more arrangement and finesse," said Turno.

While Turno and Skepsis were making the instrumental for the tune, Plank was writing the song with Reece Pullinger and Mila Falls, who both work for Ultra Music.

Plank had another studio next door to record her vocals. "Once the vocals were ready to record we could bounce it off to Reece, go next door and record the song," said Turno. "And the funny thing is, because me, and whoever the other producing artist was, were producing and busy with that, we didn't really know what was going on in that other studio. They would write vocals, record them and send them back to us. And then the first vocal they sent us we thought "wow this is crazy", so that's how it went, really."
  • After it was made, Turno, Skepsis and Plank played "Rave Out" at Warehouse Project at the end of January 2023, and it took off from there. Major labels began contacting Turno's management asking to sign the track. In the end they went with EMI, which released it on May 18, 2023.
  • The song touches on mental health

Where you gonna go when the rave's out?
Trapped in your mind in a haze now
Blowing up my phone on a comedown
Dark thoughts on your mind now the lights out

The topic is important to Turno, as he lost his brother to suicide in the early 2020s.
  • "Rave Out" is Turno and Skepsis' first song to reach the UK Singles Chart. Charlotte Plank previously peaked at #5 with her Rudimental and Vibe Chemistry collaboration,"Dancing Is Healing."
