Songfacts®:

  • This soulful song was inspired by Van Morrison's membership of the philosophical American organization, the Agape International Spiritual Center. Founded in 1986 by Michael Bernard Beckwith, by the time this song was released it had just under 10,000 members who followed its New Thought spirituality.

"I'm a member,' Morrison confirmed to The Daily Mail. "And I'm a friend of Dr. Beckwith. I can't tell you much right now. If anyone wants to find out, I'd rather they looked it up themselves. It's spiritual, but it's not religion - it's beyond religion."
  • Van Morrison recruited guitar legend Jeff Beck to play on the track, which also features the talents of jazz pianist Jason Rebello and rock-blues singer Chris Farlowe.
  • An official video was released for the song featuring Morrison and his backing group performing the tune live at a concert at Porchester Hall in London.
