Songfacts®:

  • A track from the first Yes album, "Survival" was written by lead singer Jon Anderson, who wrote the song about the environment, of which he said in 1997, "we really don't have much to do with it - we're human beings. We think we're going to save the world, I think it's really the opposite way around. Along the way I've discovered a lot about how things are, that we're not very good at controlling nature because we don't know anything about nature. As a mass, we have no understanding of the inter-dimensional reality of nature and what it means."

  • RomanSaw YES for the first time last year at a local casino (third row seats) and was amazed how they sounded as good live as on their recordings. Anderson was replaced by a younger singer who sounded just like him. Wish I had seen them sooner when Wakeman was touring with them.
