The opening track of Cavalier Youth was the last song that the band wrote for the album. Vocalist Josh Franceschi told Kerrang! magazine in early 2014: "The title has to do with me not wanting to feel so cynical; it sounds up the way I was feeling about this time last year."
Geffen Records made history on June 27, 1994 when Aerosmith's "Head First" became the first major label song made available for exclusive digital download. Download speeds at the time were so slow it took around 75 minutes to download the track.
