Songfacts®:

  • This track is an exploration of what heartbreak and moving on feel like. ZZ Ward explained to Artist Direct:

"I wrote this song about feeling trapped in a relationship that I knew was no good for me. I met someone that made me lose control of myself and this song is about the constant back and forth that I went through. I knew I needed to break up with this person but every time I tried, something pulled me back in, deeper and deeper each time."
  • The song is built around a sample of "As Long as I've Got You," a 1967 track by The Charmels.
  • The rapper Joey Purp appears on the original version of this track. His verse was removed in the version used in the video.
