  • I have traveled many moonless nights
Cold and weary with a babe inside
And I wonder what I've done
    Holy father you have come
And chosen me now to carry your son

I am waiting in a silent prayer
I am frightened by the load I bear
In a world as cold as stone
Must I walk this path alone?
    Be with me now
    Be with me now

    Breath of heaven
    Hold me together
    Be forever near me
    Breath of heaven
    Breath of heaven
    Lighten my darkness
    Pour over me your holiness
    For you are holy
    Breath of heaven

Do you wonder as you watch my face
If a wiser one should have had my place
But I offer all I am
For the mercy of your plan
    Help me be strong
    Help me be
    Help me

    Breath of heaven
    Hold me together
    Be forever near me
    Breath of heaven
    Breath of heaven
    Lighten my darkness
    Pour over me your holiness
    For you are holy

    Breath of heaven
    Hold me together
    Be forever near me
    Breath of heaven
    Breath of heaven
    Lighten my darkness
    Pour over me your holiness
    For you are holy
    Breath of heaven
    Breath of heaven

  • Chip Koehler from Fremont, CaBreath of Heaven is my most favorite Christmas song. It beautifully portrays the thoughts and feelings Mary must have felt giving birth to our Savior, Jesus Christ. My men’s group has discussed this piece several times - the feelings of a young pregnant women carrying the Son of Our Lord through the eyes of Christian Men. It’s an amazing story in so few words.
  • Myron Coleman from Lexington KyIove this beautiful song its the first time I have hea rd it Amy Grant sings it so beautiful I have heard h er sing other songs she sung but this is about Mar y mother of God I'm in tears listening to it 12/17 / 2020
  • Annette from OhioMary was the first Christian, the first to truly believe that Jesus was mankind's salvation. What a beautiful song! What a powerful "yes" to God's will and plan. I love the mood and lyrics of this song; it is truly a treasure for Christmastime and always.
  • Rich from Hickory, NcWhenever asked about whom I think is a great example for their faith in the one true God of the Bible, I always think of Mary. Since Scripture does not specify, most Bible scholars put her age at 13-16. To be a young girl in the culture of that day, pregnant with no husband, yet embracing wholeheartedly God's holy calling, such requires astonishing faith. God surely knew what He was doing.
  • Theresa from Murfreesboro, TnThe prettiest Christmas song ever written.
