  • Trippin' out, Spinnin' around
    I'm underground, I fell down
    Yeah, I fell down

I'm freakin' out, so where am I now?
Upside down and I can't stop it now
    It can't stop me now,
    Ohhh

    I,
    I'll get by
    I,
    I'll survive
    When the world's crashin' down
When I fall and hit the ground
    I will turn myself around
Don't you try to stop me
    I,
    I won't cry

I'll play the game, but I can't stay
I've got my head on straight, and I'm not gonna change
    I'm not gonna change

I'll win the race, keep up with the pace
Today's the day, that I start to pray
You can't get in my way
    No

    I,
    I'll get by
    I,
    I'll survive
    When the world's crashin' down
When I fall and hit the ground
    I will turn myself around
Don't you try to stop me
    I,
    I won't cry

I found myself (Myself) in Wonderland
Get back on (Back on) my feet (My feet) again (Again)
Is this real? (Is this real?)
Is it pretend? (Is it pretend?)
I'll take (I'll take) a stand (A stand) until (Until) the end

    I,
    I'll get by
    I,
    I'll survive
    When the world's crashin' down
When I fall and hit the ground
    I will turn myself around
Don't you try to stop me!
    I, I won't cry

    I,
    I'll get by
    I,
    I'll survive
    When the world's crashin' down
When I fall and hit the ground
    I will turn myself around
Don't you try to stop me!

  • Ryan from Los AngelesAvril was a brilliant choice for this song. She has that teenage angst vibe and easily represents "growing up" which is one of the overarching, though subtle, themes of Alice in Wonderland. She has such strong pipes and they really add to the emotion of the song. I am sure some hate it because of how loud and "whiny" she may sound, but it adds to the song and the parallel to Alice's character. I also love the dark vibe of the song.

It was disappointing though that the lyrics didn't make more reference to the trippy, weird situation that she was in. Even the music video doesn't do a great job of it. The only real relevance were the lyrics "I fell down", "I'm freaking out so where am I now? Upside down". It took until half the song was over to mention "I found myself in Wonderland." The word "found" here has multiple meanings: "I am here in Wonderland" and "I discovered who I am while in Wonderland." That second interpretation was more obvious when she emerges from the forest and looks back with a narrow smile.

This is one of Avril's better songs but it takes some listening to understand why it is the way it is.
