  • Jon from New YorkThe version that was a hit was actually an edit of Version #3. When Clive Davis wanted to reissue "Barry Manilow" as "Barry Manilow I", four songs were re-recorded; one was "Could It Be Magic". Now you can't get Version #2 anymore unless you get a copy of the vinyl album "Barry Manilow" from 1973. It was seemingly reissued on CD in 2006, but closer inspection (if you take the wrapper off) also shows the cover art for "Barry Manilow I", and includes the four remade songs from 1975. I personally prefer the 1973 version of "Could It Be Magic" myself, I feel that Barry sings it with just a bit more passion.
