  • Time shakes, found you at the water
At first you were my father
Now I love you like a brother
Earthquakes shake the dust behind you
This world, at times will blind you
Still, I know I'll see you there

Come a little closer, then you'll see
Come on, come on, come on
Things aren't always what they seem to be
Come on, come on, come on
Do you understand the things that you've been seein'?
Come on, come on, come on
Do you understand the things that you've been dreamin'?
Come a little closer, then you'll see

Heartbreaks, the heavy world's upon your shoulders
Will we burn on or just smolder?
Somehow, I know I'll find you there
Ooh, you wanna see if you can change it
    Change it
Still, I know I'll see you there

Come a little closer, then you'll see
Come on, come on, come on
Things aren't always what they seem to be
Do you understand the things that you've been seein'?
Come on, come on, come on
Do you understand the things that you've been dreamin'?
Come a little closer, then you'll see
Come a little closer, then you'll see

Ten thousand people stand alone now
And in the evening, the sun sank
    Tomorrow it will rise
    Time flies by
    They all sang along
    Time flies by
    They all sang along
    Time flies by
    They all sang along
    Time flies by, by

Come a little closer, then you'll see
Come on, come on, come on
Come a little closer, then you'll see
Come a little closer, then you'll see
Come a little closer, then you'll see Writer/s: Daniel Andrew Tichenor, Donald Bradley Shultz, Jared Lloyd Champion, Lincoln Parish, Matthew Ray Shultz

  • Raunchy from Tulsa, OkCTE performed super on "Jimmy Kimmel Show" last night. "Come A Little Closer" is getting max airplay around here & I just love it.
  • Elmer H from Westville, OkLove Cage The Elephant! I think these guys have roots in Bowling Green, Ky. Love that beautiful area. Their latest album was released last week (10-08-13) called "Melophobia" & already the single "Come A Little Closer" is getting lots of airplay. This song has a strong vibe or feel to it. And that melody grabs ya! I had to buy the CD! Can't get enough of this song. Then the band performed on David Letterman's show a few days ago. And Dave was so impressed he said that CTE was his new fav rock band. Coming from an OLD guy like Dave, what does that mean??!! LOL! -------- Go guys! You're headed for more success. Love ya.
