• AnonymousI know there's a lot of comments about the line ....'only in my head.' But I really don't think he's talking about the head on his shoulders..... This song is all about sex and betrayal.
• Reiknar from EdinburghNah Jess from Blatimore, The line “Did you love me only in my head” isn't referencing an imagined relationship - the song does an excellent job of establishing that while there certainly was a relationship, which she walked away from without giving a heads up. What the line is referencing is an all too common occurrence in matters of the heart, while one of the participants in a relationship may be all in believing it's "True Love" etc, the other may not be nearly as dedicated or interested in the relationship, or perhaps they're just not interested in something long term. Discussions about wrong or right aside, many people have no issue with the idea that love can come and go, the same as their relationships. The guy in the song is wrestling with this idea in his head, that what he thought was love (not just on her part but also his) was only something he was feeling and was only in his head, never actually in his heart much less hers. Despite all of that, he still can't get her out of his head, hence sitting in the car watching her windows as the lights go out.
• V.r. from Calgary, Canada.You forgot to mention that A&M gave the band an ultimatum....Get rid of Doug Hopkins (co founder and principle writer) or lose their record contract. They also withheld 15,000 dollars that they owed him and forced him to sign over half of his publishing royalties....and ALL his mechanical royalties to Scott Johnson. (It is Doug's guitar work you hear on the album, not Scott's),,,,,Doug died with all the money he had in his pocket, 498 dollars. Just sayin'
• TaraI just began to fully appreciate this band. My dad loved them and played them all the time when I was little, and now at 40, I’m truly appreciative of their sound, lyrics, everything. It’s a bonus because I have memories of them with my dad, but they were really underrated when they were in their prime.

• Brian from Boston, MaGreat song I am just now learning to play this on guitar.One of the great things about the Gin Blossoms is how melodic their music is.Melody is something a lot of bands lack.Sure some bands may be able to rock hard,shred on the guitar and look cool but if the song lacks melody than it is quickly forgotten. The Counting crows are another example of a band with a great sense of melody.I sometimes feel like an old man because I really don't listen to a lot of todays music.There are many technically skilled guitar players but few are good songwriters

• Angela from San Antonio, TxDoug Hopkins (the writer/guitarist)became depressed and drunken due to a breakup of a relationship. (GF or wife I can't remember which)he became rebellious and to drunk to perform unreliably on stage. Gin fired/replaced him and continued to tour without him. The group became a success and Doug Hopkins became more depressed partly about not being a part of the band. He commited suicide. Gin still toured and still used some of his lyrics and had more hits. Eventually, the music fountain dried up.
  
  I hope they can get some new music together. I miss their unique sound.

• Roger from Los Angeles, CaDoug Hopkins was drunk during most of the sessions recording this album. It is amazing how someone with an addiction problem and depression could write such good music. I guess his misery inspired him.
• Greg from New Haven, CtDon't know much about the GB's but they are a great band. This song seems to be about a girl that became a famous model/actress or something like that and just left him the dust.
