  “Interviewer: The CD has the bonus hidden track “A Flock of Wah-Wahs,” just a bunch of weird vocal sounds. What is that?
  
  Joe Walsh: It was recorded during an Eagles session. One day during Hotel California it was just Felder, Walsh and me. Felder had a laugh—someone would f--k up and he’d go, “Wah, wah, wah, wah, wah.” That was his laugh. We decided that sounded like some kind of a bird. So, we’re sitting here in the studio, Walsh, Felder and me, with nothing to do. So, I said, “Let’s make a flock of wah-wahs.” So, with 24 tracks, just the three of us would make them, some at various speeds, some higher, some lower so they’d all sound different. So we did 24 different birds. Then I mixed it and it became “A Flock of Wah-Wahs.””

  Same goes for “Lola” by the kinks, whenever I sing that, I always sing “I met her in a club down in old Soho where you drink Champagne and it tastes just like COCA cola but as I got older and heard the song they were singing CHERRY cola, that puzzled me until I learned that the lyric had indeed been changed at the insistence of the company COCA cola, who I guess didn’t want to be associated with the songs theme.

  I always wondered if Joe was poking fun at Frey and Felder's turbulent relationship, or if he was referencing Henley with his lyrical adjustment.

I’ve been going through this every summer and winter break since 72. When I look back on it I had really great friends. Now, we used to have a great rock ‘n’ roll station here in Puerto Rico, called Alpha rock. It just ended after hurricane Maria. But I used to hear all the greatest songs. But that summer that song didn’t play here. When I returned to get ready for my freshman year in high school, my friends abducted me, didn’t say a word, transported me into our friend David Lovett‘s house, brought out a cassette player and played this over and over again until I could memorize it like they had. I look back on it like a memory like the movie stand by me. The song in the memory or some of the best of my life.

• K from La, CaI just saw Joe perform in a small nightclub in LA tonight. He explained this song verse by verse. He would just play a little and then tell a story about it. He actually was reluctant to even write and record this song. His producer forced him to. He wrote little notes about what it was like on the road and twisted them sarcastically to fit the theme of living "the rock star lifestyle" He told hilarious stories about taking chainsaws to hotel room walls with John Belushi costing $23,000. His mansion line was about being away from his baby daughter too long while being on the road for months and months barely seeing her for 11 years (she was there tonight). Straight from Joe's mouth...I can go on but it's late.

In a drag race, a "tuned" Honda Prelude could flat-out beat one of the V6 Maseratis (Biturbo, Merak) and a full-sized van could outrun one of the V-8 Maseratis (Quattroporte, Bora). Furthermore, the only street-legal Maseratis that are capable of 185 miles per hour are those that were produced after Fiat bought the company in the mid-1990s.
