  • No, I'm not the man I used to be lately
See, you met me at an interesting time
And if my past is any sign of your future
You should be warned before I let you inside

Hold on to whatever you find, baby
Hold on to whatever will get you through
Hold on to whatever you find, baby
I don't trust myself with lovin' you

I will beg my way into your garden
Then I'll break my way out when it rains
Just to get back to the place where I started
So I can want you back all over again
    (I don't really understand)

Hold on to whatever you find, baby
Hold on to whatever will get you through
Hold on to whatever you find, baby
I don't trust myself with lovin' you

    Who do you love?
Girl, I see through, through your love
    Who do you love?
Me or the thought of me?
Me or the thought of me?

Hold on to whatever you find, baby
Hold on to whatever will get you through
Hold on to whatever you find, baby
I don't trust myself with lovin' you

Hold on to whatever you find, baby
Hold on to whatever will get you through
Hold on to whatever you find, baby
I don't trust myself with lovin' you
I don't trust myself with lovin' you
I don't trust myself with lovin' you
I don't trust myself with lovin' you
I don't trust myself with lovin' you

  • Yg from LondonYou have both versions?! I can't find the earlier version anywhere and haven't been able to for like a decade. I am desperate for it, please... Any help?
  • Dustin from Whitehouse, TxJohn plays the harmony line of the chorus on guitar. A testament to his unique orchestration of music and usage of talents. He does a lot of creative stuff like this in the studio.
  • Jen from L, TxActually Clubber, he wrote this song way before Jessica Simpson. It was called "Trust Myself" at the time he only sang it in concerts and not too often. This new version has been changed, some words are different but the same sentiment is behind it. I have both and love both versions.
  • Clubber Lange from Ocean Gate, NjYou can tell he wrote this about Jessica Simpson...He was on-again-of-again with her at the time "Continuum" was being written/released.."Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" also sounds way too much like a "I miss Jessica" song...They still kick ass though in my book...
  • Charlotte from New-york, NyI love this one because i guess that he admits that he not the loving man that eveybody thinks he is.
