This is a BRILLIANT album! Especially In my darkest hour and Mary Jane!!!!! MegaD is more relevant today than back in the day! Dystopia is also fantastic album too!
• Mase from KckAs a huge fan of Megadeth the band, and all of the musicians who have been able to say they were in Megadeth over the years, and as a musician myself who has the greatest respect and admiration for Dave Mustaine, and Dave Ellefson, the greatest thing about this song is the truth and the emotion that can be heard in Daves voice. To me there is just a bit more passion and soul in the delivery of the words on this song, than in any other megadeth song Ive ever heard. So, regardless of who or what inspired Dave to write this song,Im sure that Cliff is very proud of his former bandmate for writing it, and performing it night after night, all around the world!
• Jeemy from UkA song doesn't have to be about *ONE* specific thing. This was written by Dave after Cliff Burton's death and is largely not in response to the actual death, but the fact that he was not called by one person from Metallica or Corinne Lynn, his friend and Cliff's girlfriend. So when his friend died, he was left alone. Probably his fault, but he took the thoughts from the death and wrote the song in one evening. Dave writes for guitar/tempo first and lyrics second, so we are left with a few things that don't make sense - except to 14yo foreveralone kids who would think its about the hot girl in school who friendzoned them for Chad.

The song is not about cliff persay, but the feelings his death gave Dave inspired the Lyrics. I know this because Iam the BBAM. Plus Dave tells the story in VH1's Megadeth Behind The Music. FYI Dave Mustaine is one of hard rocks best singers/guitarist song writers of all time. Feel free to ask me any Megadeth or Dave Mustaine questions, I have been following Dave for 30 plus years, met the Dude five times....By the way in person Dave is a little stand offish.
