  • In many ways, they'll miss the good old days
    Someday
    Someday

Yeah, it hurts to say, but I want you to stay
    Sometimes
    Sometimes

When we was young, oh man, did we have fun
    Always
    Always

Promises, they break before they're made
    Sometimes
    Sometimes

Oh, Maya says I'm lacking in depth
    I will do my best
You say you want to stand by my side
    Darling, your head's not right

Ah, see, alone we stand, together we fall apart
Yeah, I think I'll be alright
I'm working so I won't have to try so hard
    Tables, they turn sometimes
    Oh, someday
No, I ain't wasting no more time

    (Trying, trying)

And now my fears they come to me in threes
    So I
    Sometimes
Say, fate, my friend, you say the strangest things
    I find, sometimes

Oh, Maya says I'm lacking in depth
Shit, I will try my best
You say you want to stand by my side

    Darling, your head's not right
Ah, see, alone we stand, together we fall apart
Yeah, I think I'll be alright
I'm working so I won't have to try so hard

    Tables, they turn sometimes
    Oh, someday
I ain't wasting no more time Writer/s: Julian Casablancas

  • Layton from Paris, TxThis is one of the few songs where when you hear it, you immediatly are addicted to it. Seems like all of The Strokes songs are like that xD
  • Indigo from Adelaide, AustraliaRealising that promises you make when you are young won't always stay so important and strong to you. People move on, we get older, people change. This is a sad song:"When we was young, oh man, did we have fun always, always promises, they break before they're made sometimes, sometimes". One of my favourite Strokes songs, this and barely legal. Is This It is such a great album.
  • Jordan from Montreal, CanadaThis song play in the movie Click.
  • Michelle from Davis, CaThis song has an upbeat tune, but it's about growing apart from your friends and is in fact kind of about facing a sad truth. While your friendships will never be the same, there's always the past to reminisce about. I think the line "Promises, they break before they're made" sums up the insincerities that come from people trying to hold together a broken relationship.

  • Alex from Perth, Australiaslash from guns n' roses apears in the film clip
