    Hey
    Hey
    Hey

Cars and girls are easy come by in this day and age
Laughing, joking, drinking, smoking, 'til I've spent my wage
When I was young, people spoke of immorality
All the things they said were wrong are what I want to be

    (Hey) over, under, sideways, down
(Hey) backwards, forwards, square, and round
    (Hey) over, under, sideways, down
(Hey) backwards, forwards, square, and round
When will it end? (When will it end?)
When will it end? (When will it end?)

    Hey
    Hey
    Hey
    Hey

I find comment 'bout my looks irrelativity
Think I'll go and have some fun 'cause it's all for free
I'm not searching for a reason to enjoy myself
Seems it's better done than argued with somebody else

    (Hey) over, under, sideways, down
(Hey) backwards, forwards, square, and round
    (Hey) over, under, sideways, down
(Hey) backwards, forwards, square, and round
When will it end? (When will it end?)
When will it end? (When will it end?)

    Hey

  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn June 19th 1966, "Over Under Sideways Down" by the Yardbirds entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #82; and on August 7th it peaked at #13 (for 2 weeks) and spent 11 weeks on the Top 100...
Between 1965 and 1967 the group had nine Top 100 records; with two making the Top 10 ("For Your Love" peaked at #6 in 1965 and "Heart Full of Soul" reached #9 also in 1965)...
They just missed having a third Top 10 record when "Shapes of Things" peaked at #11 (for 1 week) on May 8th, 1966...
